Making Geometric Shapes

Today we worked on the different types of triangles. There are three types that we are working with. Right triangle- has a square in the right angle, isosceles-has two side that are the same, equilateral- all three side have equal lengths.
When we finished we made geometric shapes. We made a cube and a dodecahedron. A cube has four faces and a dodecahedron has twelve. The high school teacher cadets were here to help with the first group, but the afternoon group helped each other and I assisted as I could.
The boards for the birdhouses will be here tomorrow!!! Mr. Wall has had the flu. We're excited about finishing our projects.

Birdhouses going the way of the doodoo! so quadilaters

We thought we were going to nail our birdhouses together today, but Mr. Todd could not bring the boards. We did quadilaterals instead. A quadilateral has 4 sides, 4 vertices and 4 angles.
We also found out that sound moves like a slinky or back and forth. Light moves up and down like waves.

No homework tonight!!!!! Yea!!!!

Valentine's Day

Today is Valentine's day. We learned about rays and line segments. We talked about energy being stored in food and fuel.
We were really ready to go back to Mrs. Webb's class today because that is where we will have our party. Mark,Bailey and Bryson haven't even finished passing out their Valentine cards.

Wonderful Day

We practiced for our chapter 4 math test. We had a grammar test today in Mrs. Webb's room. We made Valentine cards. We went down the hill for P.E. because we couldn't go in the gym for P.E. The 2, 4, and K were taking pictures in there.

Picture Day

Today we had class and individual Spring pictures made in the gym. We also made funny pictures in Mrs. Webb's class for Miss Jessica.

Math
We had a quick check today over metric measurement units.

Science
We learned about potential and kinetic energy. We watched a balloon fly around the room. It went under orange group's table.

Homework
No math or science. We have a vocabulary sheet for Mrs. Webb.
